About The Artist:

Varsha Dasgupta is a young, talented, and vibrant kathak dancer, a disciple of the world-renowned Kathak Exponents Guru Shri Abhimanyu Lal and Guru Smt. Vidha Lal of Jaipur Gharana. She is the recipient of a scholarship by the Sahitya Kala Parishad, Govt. of India in the field of Kathak. She is also a Doordarshan graded artist, empanelled with Spic Macay. Varsha has been fortunate enough to be under the guidance of and worked in many choreographic works of Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee-Guru Smt. Geetanjali Lal also.

Why this workshop?


Kathak is one of the 8 classical dance forms of India. It belongs to the Northern belt of India. Kathak came from the word Katha. 
Kathak is one dance form that brings out both the aspects beautifully, those are pace and stability.

Essentials for this Workshop

1. You must be dressed in activewear attire ONLY. Jeans or any other non-suitable form of clothing will not be allowed.
2. Keep a towel & a bottle of water handy.
3. Please find a place with minimal (zero) distractions for the class. Interruptions from friends and family members hamper the class experience.
